We’ve finally finished our third LP titled “Love Led You Here”. From the coolest basements of Portland, Oregon to the rural country side of Northern California. We’re very proud and super excited about this next album.

We’ve been hard at work since our last release/EP Dirty Gems.

Now we’re back with bigger + better material. We have been writing new songs (14) since July 2012!  Currently finishing ‘bells & whistles. Then onto Mixing + Mastering.

This album will be The Hugs Third Full Length Studio LP. We began recording in March of this year and plan to finish tracking this month. For now listen to a special b-side titled “Room”

We’re very excited to unleash all these new songs to the world! Tracklisting, music-videos, release details coming soon.

[JANGLE GARAGE] “I love the Hugs…They’re kind of like the Libertines but are taking it all from their own direction,” claimed Libertine Carl Barât in a 2007 NME interview. Elements of the garage revival play big parts in both bands’ sounds. But if the Hugs and the Libertines are in the same garage, the Libertines are rebuilding a transmission while the Hugs practice their harmonies in a corner, glass jars of screws keeping time. And oh, what harmonies. The vocals, especially on 2012’s Dirty Gems EP, sound a lot closer to the psych-folk aural rainbows of the Byrds than any garage rockers we know. The reversed guitars only distance them from any garage comparisons. The Hugs became a Portland staple when they were signed to Columbia while students at Cleveland High School, and if anything they’re more legendary now that they’re independent. ”

Hey! We’re recording new songs for our newest album here in Portland, Oregon. We’ve started work on the drums and they are being meddled with for superior rock n’ roll Hugs tones.

Lyrics are finished! Thirteen new songs are written & soon the wonderful tracking begins. These songs are way cool. More updates soon!
