“Portland’s The Hugs are Danny Delegato on lead vocals and guitar, Mitch Wilson on drums and vocals, Davey Appaloosa on bass and vocals and Patrick Wilcox on lead guitar and vocals. These young cats know how to write a tune, and mine the veins of jangle rock, British invasion and early New Wave for their music, which is punctuated by just a bit smarmy yet warmhearted vocals. They may be too happy for our bleak times, or too sunshiny for rainy Portland, but if you’re sick and tired of being sick and tired, they definitely have the tonic to cure you. They like their notes generally unbended, but wear their hearts clearly open on their rocker sleeves.”
